The circus returns to Siltasaari
BasBas Sirkus is located in Paasivuorenpuistikko, a little green oasis carrying that name since 1938. Until 1938 the place was known as Sirkuspuisto, Circus Park, a spot where the travelling circuses and fun fairs entertained the people of Helsinki especially during the late 1800s.
We strive to revive the bubbly and vivacious Belle Époque spirit. We offer you varied, inventive food and BasBas style cosy hustle and bustle. Our patio by the lush greenery of the park will open in spring 2027.
Bread and circuses
Good food and mellow vibes are the heart and soul of BasBas Sirkus. We also like to spice our bread and circuses with a sprinkle of magic dust.
Grab a coffee, a bite or lunch to go, buy ingredients for cooking at home or order a a selection of delicacies for parties and other special occasions. Our weekday lunches are magically swift. In the evenings and during the weekends we invite you to linger longer.
Eatery – enjoy at BasBas Sirkus
During weekdays you are most welcome to pop by for lunch (Mon–Fri 11—15). Only walk-ins. On our lunch menu you always find two different salads, pastas and burgers.
In the weekday evenings (Mon–Thu 16–23, Fri 16–01) and weekends (Sat 12–01, Sun 12–23) we encourage you to book a table at the restaurant. We serve simple and fresh BasBas style bistro food that is easy to share. The menu reflects our love for pasta and the wonderful fact that our artisan bakery is located at the premises.
In the evenings (Mon–Sun 16–) the Sirkus Treatery evolves into a bustling bar, where you can enjoy the atmosphere. No bookings. You can order food from the restaurant menu or choose tapas style bites from our pantry to be enjoyed with your wine or cocktail.
Treatery – pick up your delicacies
From morning to afternoon (Mon–Fri 7.30–15.30, Sat–Sun 10–15.30) we provide sweet and savoury pastries, freshly squeezed juices and coffee. On weekdays there are also sandwiches and salads available. Everything we sell, we proudly prepare on the premises.
Our artisan bakery counter is open from morning to early evening. We offer freshly baked bread and delicacies from our kitchen: fresh pasta, sauces and various other treats. With this BasBas Sirkus magic you can eat at home just like you would at BasBas.
When we launch our webshop in the coming months, you can collect your pre-orders briskly without queueing at an agreed time. If you desire special treats for special occasions, please ask! We endeavour to fulfil your culinary wishes. Abracadabra!
Stay tuned
We cook simple food from the best ingredients of the day. The recommended menu of BasBas Sirkus (from 52 €/person) consists of two starters, a small pasta or a pizzetta and a small main course. You can choose the dishes from the menu of the day in the restaurant and finish the meal with a dessert prepared by our pastry chefs. Bon appétit!

Booking / BasBas Sirkus Eatery
1–7 guests
Please, book via our online booking system. Reservations are available for 30 days ahead. Booking enquiries for the same week also by phone (+358 50 339 6780) during the opening hours of the restaurant. Whenever Eatery is open, you are welcome to pop by and linger at our walk-in area. Our kitchen closes one hour before the actual closing time.
Over 7 guests
Enquiries for larger groups by phone Tue–Fri 11—15 or by email ryhmat@basbas.fi. Bookings for these larger groups can be made more than 30 days ahead. For larger groups we always serve our menu of the day (62 €). It consists a selection of shearable dishes, a small pasta, a small main course and a dessert. Please advise us on special dietary requirements.
